Gardening for Songbirds, by Nicola Oakey

Nicola Oakey from Rutland speaks about how to encourage songbirds into your garden, drawing on her experience designing an RHS Chelsea garden in 2025. The Songbird Survival Garden centred around the narrative of a bird’s daily life. Designed with a family in mind, it provided a playful, immersive space for people to connect with the fascinating lives of songbirds. The garden explored how three elements – shelter, water and food – are instrumental to birds’ lives.
