We will hear about the Ruddington-based charity set up nine years ago by village teachers Jayne Henson and Sally Squires.
The duo visited rural Uganda to initially work with teachers on learning activities but ended up setting up the project and organising a series of fund-raisers in Ruddington and teaching children in village schools about what life was like in Uganda. The charity has also made good use of our Church Street red telephone box!
Money has been collected to provide, among other things, much-needed educational resources, a knitting machine, 20 sheep for a women’s group and funding for a girls’ football team.
